When someone edits or adds info of an ancestor in the FamilySearch tree does it automatically update in the family group tree?

Yes because the Deceased in Group Tree have the same Deceased profile (PID). Currently any Living person's profile in any private tree would not be updated with changes.

There is one thing to keep in mind that will help you keep straight how things function. There are no deceased people in a Family Group Tree. Not a single one. Family Group Tree only contain living people. As soon as someone in the Family Group Tree is changed from living to deceased, that profile leaves the family group and becomes visible in the public Family Tree space.

So there are three cases to look at when information is updated.

    1. A profile for a deceased individual is updated. Since that profile is visible to all users of Family Tree, everyone sees the updated information.
    2. A profile for a living individual is updated in the private space of a member of a Family Group Tree. That update is only on the copy of that living profile that only that user can see. It does not update the copy of the profile in the Family Group Tree.
    3. A profile for a living individual is updated in the Family Group Tree. There is it visible to all members of the family group. The updated information is not updated on any private space copies of that same individual which any members of the family group might have.
