I need some help with the translation of the marriage record of Adalbertum Wychlak to Catherinm on 29 September 1833. I'm trying to get information on Catheriam. I see that she is a widow and from a town called Wegierskie, Poland. I am hoping that there maybe someting in the detail that may provide a clue to her maiden name. I cannot find records from Wegierskie that may show the death of a Stachowski listing Catherinam as his widow so that maybe I can find their marriage record and get her madian name.

I woud appriciate any help. It is Act#8

    Translated from Latin:

Marriage Record No. 8, Czerlejno Parish, dated 29th September 1833, of Adalbertus (Wojciech in Polish), Wychlak (Wichłacz acc. to Geneteka), a laborer, 46 years old, a widower from Wysławice, and of Catharina (Katarzyna in Polish) Stachoska (or Stachowska), 40 years old, a widow from Węgierskie, Parish Czerlejno. Witnesses: Michael (Michał) Nowicki, a peasant from Węgierskie, and Bonawentura Jozwiak, from Wysławice.

Parish for Węgierskie was Czerlejno, acc. to skorowidz gmin rzeczypospolitej polskiej 1931. It was customary that a widow would use her married name in the subsequent marriage, then she would return to her maiden name when she had children by her second husband. Usually, she would move to the farm of her husband. Wojciech Wychlak or Wichłacz was from Wyslawice, his parish was Grodziszczko. There are some records after 1833 from Grodziszczko in basia.famula.pl including the death record of Adalbertus (Wojciech) Wichlacz who died in 1853, lived 74 years, his widow is listed as Catharina Wichłacz, but there is no maiden name of Catharina given. To review basia.famula records, you may go to Poznan Project and click on Basia Project on the right, then click on More under the center heading. Then scroll down to Grodziszczko to identify which records are available. Green indicates indexed records. Then scroll up to Extended search and enter Adalbertus Wychlak or Wichłacz or search for Catharina Stachoska providing the Parish, then scroll down to obtain the indexed information.
