Help identifying a Bohemian town name (Webrua / Waybrahwa / Webrna)

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to identify a town from Bohemia.
A German speaker gave the name verbally to English speakers, and on U.S. records it appears as "Webrua," "Waybrahwa," and "Webrna."

The town would be located in today's Czech Republic.
Does anyone recognize what the original town name might have been?

Thanks for any ideas!

Can you also share the surname? If not too common, it could help locate the region.

There are 610 towns in Czechia https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seznam_m%C4%9Bst_v_%C4%8Cesku
    There is nothing like this.

Webrua or Webrna sound like a compound of preposition "near", in Czech "od", pronounced "vod". So it could be "vod Brna" (near Brno).

Waybrahwa sounds more like a surname (Vejprava), but the term means a journey.

In other words, I am not sure if the value is really a town.

It might be also village Věvrov (Webrowa in German).

GenTeam has 7 cities that begin with the letters "WEB" in Bohemia. The German names are listed with the modern Czech equivalents in parentheses:

    Weber

    Weberhaus

    Weberschan (Brvany)

    Webeschan (Bzany)

    Weberhof (Dvur Webruv)

    Webora (Vevrov)

    Webrutz (Vrutice)

You can get a free account on GenTeam. Once you find a location, it will link you to the archive that will have the records for that area. Maybe that will give you some ideas of where to look.
