Can't access CET at all - 404 error? Has the link to upload GEDCOMs changed recently?
Hi,
I'm not sure this is the right place for this, but wasn't given anything more specific than this group, so I might as well try. I was in the hospital for an extended period of time when I got the acceptance email. After being released and trying to upload a first gedcom - I can't acccess anything at all. The link in the email just goes to a 404 page. I'm assuming the link has changed since but can't find any notice as to where. Could anyone assist?
Thanks a ton.

@hfn7057 Thank you for agreeing to test early access CET. And, yes, this Community Group is the right place to post anything CET related. I have made the engineering team aware of this dilemma and someone will be in touch with you shortly to resolve this issue.

Thanks a ton. I should mention that ever since getting back home, FamilySearch in general has been throwing up 404 pages everywhere, and certain features have become functionally disabled because they only redirect to 404 pages (such as the family groups menu item). Just looking at the UI, no CET options appear anywhere either. Cross-checked against different browsers, devices and connections, all the same issues. A family member who logged in from my usual device and browser had no issues with his account. It looks like the attempt to enable CET failed but caused account-level bugs throughout all the website, including non-CET related stuff.

@hfn7057 I am sorry to hear about all your difficulties. Would you please clear the cache and delete all of the cookies on your browser and completely log out of FamilySearch and try accessing it again. Please post your comments after that experiment.

Tried multiple times, also disabled browser extensions such as ORA etc. that could have been potentially interfering, no luck. Although when I tried to visit the links in the email from the relative's account: exact same 404 issue.
Can you check with the team if my account actually has the feature enabled from FamilySearch's side? Because the more I dig into this it looks more and more like I just got the email but CET was never actually enabled.
It's always a possibility I've been misunderstanding the email and that was never what the intent was to begin with, I sent you a screenshot of it (just out of an abundance of caution due to ambiguity as to whether it would be appropriate to post publicly).

@hfn7057 I received your private message and forwarded it to the engineering team as well. Hopefully this is a quick fix. Thank you again for your willingness to test early access CET and for your feedback. To be sure, you are already logged into FamilySearch when you try the link, correct?

Yep. Same 404 page either way.

Submitted a new application via the regular labs application form - hopefully accepting that and resending the email will turn it on and that's that. Let's hope it works.

@hfn7057 thank you for your eagerness to test early access CET. This issue has been brought to the attention of the engineering team and added to the list of "bugs". You will receive a response here when the issue is resolved. Thank you, again.

I actually found a workaround this morning that's more of a loophole than a fix, but it's a functional one for the meantime and should give the engineering team a big clue here. The answer was a VPN. Turned it on and suddenly the CET options appear, it let me upload a GEDCOM and all the CET features appear on the site. Turn it off… Exact same problem as before - no sign of CET anything and dead links. Now here's the kicker: I tried it with a mobile hotspot with no VPN and got the same messages. So it looks like it's just something related to my IP's region and not my ISP specifically. I doubt it's some kind of IP blacklist, or else I'm assuming the entire site wouldn't function.
In short: Bug is still there, but I found a usable workaround and hopefully a big enough hint for the engineering team to isolate the problem.
UPDATE: Now all CET Features are working fine without the VPN. I guess it just needed a different IP to enable it, and now that it's enabled all's good from my regular IP.

@hfn7057 First, I am grateful that it is mow working for you and I will be interested in additional comments as you actually work with it. Thank you for your patience and your persistence.
