Help with abbreviation (from 1799)
Could you please help me figure out the title of a named person in the first record?
This is what I can read:
"… bautizé, puse olio y crisma a un niño de un día a quien puse por nombre Pedro, hijo natural de Tomaza esclava del Ale@ Pard^o D[o]n Vicente Rengifo…. "
What could be the « Ale@ Pard^o » title?

Hi, I think the title is an abbrevation for 'alcalde'. Maybe Alcade Pardo (guessing this is what it is) Don Vicente (can't make out the last name).

@JuanZuluaga3 I believe that in colonial times in Colombia existed "Alcaldes Pedaneos", who were in charge of smaller rural communities. It is the closest I have been able to find to the abbreviation shown in the document
