I asume that the Friston Sussex England is more a parish area than an actual cemetary. I just can't seem to find any cemetaries like this name. The adress given btw is "Windova Ridgeway Friston" not sure how to interpret the address. As I have found British addresses are not familier to me in the way they are listed. Other addresses are nice and clear, like 29 St Leonerdi Road Eastbourne for example a few above.

    Regards.

I think you are over-complicating things here, Colin!

This appears to be a page from the Friston (C of E) parish burial register (not a "Cemetery register"). I believe the address "Windover, The Ridgeway, Friston" just represents the property where the deceased had previously resided. (Just like "Hilltop Cottage, East Dean" in another entry.) Whether Dorothy was buried in the churchyard or at a separate cemetery isn't stated. The others on the page have a "Garden of Remembrance" note in the margin: indicating they were possibly cremated and had a commemorative plaque in the garden of remembrance (probably) attached to the church.

Surprisingly, the one item you haven't queried is the "D" in the margin of Dorothy's entry. Perhaps you have worked out what that represents!

I have just looked further and have had my thoughts confirmed.

The following links should be of interest. The first showing a property recently sold with a Ridgeway, Friston address and the second shows a map view. I generally find a quick Google search is all it takes to solves such questions.

Yes I make everything more complicated. My insecurities/brain/unfamilierities make me doubt myself.

Thank you for the information. I did google it but the way things are addressed as I mentioned is so foreign to me. The addresses in GB are sometimes a little more descriptive of a house than number and street name of a home. For example another place these people lived is listed as Boreen, which googling tells me its a word used in Ireland for a lane. When Iooked at it , it was a lane even now many years later.

I asume, as I could not find any info on line that "D" means thats where they died? I saw others that have a D on them. But then sometimes my asumptions are more often wrong that right.

      Regards
