Archion Subscription: How to Prepare

Hi. I'm getting an Archion subscription soon. I'd be grateful for advice on how to best prepare.
So far I:
- Located the church books
- Plan to study the old font and genealogical word list
Anything else I should do? Anything that I should be aware of about the records or the website itself?
Thanks!

Hello @GFre,
If you are unfamiliar with the older German script you may find it difficult to interpret.
Here is a link to a three-part online class which may assist you in interpreting ths script:
Each class is one-hour long.Bear in mind that many of the volunteer translators in the Germany Research community group do not have a subscription to Archion so if you request assistance in translating a record it is best to post an image of the page in addition to a link.

When you go to the website you will need to search Dorn-Durkheim and then you will find Dekanat Osthofen. The image you are looking for is on image 41 at the bottom. Some of the records are difficult to read as the ink has bled through the page but I could read her entry. The books go back to 1650 so you should be able to go back many generations. I am not fluent in German so I can't help you further but this website is wonderful for helping with those records. Good luck in your search. Paula Rail

What location are the church books in? I have a subscription. I will look at the books to see if there is anything I can share with you as far as what to expect. Paula Rail

Thank you so much @PaulaRail1!! I'd so appreciate it!
I'm looking for the Scherer family from Dorn-Durkheim. I'd guess it's the first book with that name, but I'm not sure: https://www.archion.de/en/alle-archive/hessen/zentralarchiv-der-evangelischen-kirche-in-hessen-und-nassau/dekanat-osthofen
One person I'm looking for is Catharine Scherer, born November 7th, 1823. Her parents are Conrad Scherer and Margareth Koepel (sometimes Kobel or Goebel).
I'd be so grateful for anything, even how difficult the particular text is to understand or knowing which book is right. Any advice would be very welcome!
Thank you!!

Thank you both so much!!! I so appreciate the help!
@Robert Seal_1, I will definitely go through the online class. That should help me navigate the records so much better. I'm also thankful to hear the community can help me further, as I'm sure I will need assistance.
@PaulaRail1, I so appreciate you checking for me!! It's such a comfort to know the records are there and readable. I've been so worried that I wouldn't be able to even pick out the names! I'm more excited to research now. :)
Again, thank you both for your help!!
