    Seeking Alsop & Vickers Relatives

    My father is Derek Alsop & my mother is Pamela Vickers, both originally from Hull/Yorkshire.

      You say that you are seeking Alsop and Vickers relatives. The chances of finding any based solely on the names of your parents are quite slim. It is worth adding as many generations as you can to Family Tree. In the process, you are likely, sooner or later, to find names already added by others. You can then contact the contributors to find out how they are related.

      Another good option for finding living relatives is to take a DNA test. FamilySearch does not offer this so you will need to go elsewhere. See Using DNA in family history research

      Perhaps you could make it clear whether you are wishing to trace / contact living relatives of your parents or in tracing their genealogy and see what wider relationships are involved. I found their marriage on the FreeBMD website and that of Derek's parents, and the fact he appears to have been an only child. However, we are not allowed to discuss the finer details of living persons on this forum, so I will not mention the specifics here. I assume you probably know at least the broad details of your parents and grandparents already, however.

      Please return to confirm your exact intentions with regards to your search for your relatives, so we are not getting confused about exactly what you wish to find out.
