Is there a way to look at adoption records for Castiglione di Sicilia, Catania, Sicily, Italy?
I have several ancestors with the last name Del Polpolo. My understanding of that last name is that they were adopted or abandoned. I was wondering if there is any way of finding out who their parents are? I'm attaching one example of my family, the marriage on the left in the pic is my direct line.

You'd have to look at their birth records, but it's unlikely.

The birth records might indicate whether someone took custody of the child. Child adoption wasn't a thing in Italy until well into the 20th century; children might have been taken in by foster families, but those records would be at the foundling homes and are not online.

The image on the right from the link below is the birth record for Consiglio Angelo. Interestingly, this town has a separate birth register for foundlings.

This is documented in the marriage allegati located here (click forward through the allegati, image by image):

Image 245/334 is a transcription of his birth record
The transcription located at Image 247/334 is for Ginardi Gaetana
The original from the foundling register for Ginardi Gaetana is here:
