The record in question is on the right side, third record down for Adolf Morawetz. This is in the German-speaking area of Czechoslovakia.

What is confusing me is that date of 4 May 1886 in the column for the "Name of the Deceased". Can you tell what that date is for?

THANKS

In 1917, there was no German-speaking area of Czechoslovakia, there was only Austria-Hungary. Czechoslovakia was established in 1918.

The date in question refers to the deceased's marriage. 'verehelicht seit' = (had been) married since that date.
