    Help finding a place

I'm attempting to find where one of my ancestors was born. I found two records from Prague which give the birth date, but the place is eluding me. Here is a link to the clearest of the two records:

    https://katalog.ahmp.cz/pragapublica/permalink?xid=AF6036D16F4411E181B3002215111B5A&scan=1#scan1

Where the birth date is listed, I read "in. Schera" but have no clue if that is correct, or where it could be.

The first record I found for the father of this Franz Lukas (also a Franz Lukas) in Prague is from 1830 so I expect the family moved to Prague around that time, and his children were born in this "Schera". I haven't had any success in any of the Gazeteer's I've tried so far.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Peter

I had a discovery today. The "M Schera" seems to refer to Maria Schnee, which was a historical name of one of the churches in Prague, now called P. Marie Sněžné. I found the associated birth record and further information on the parents and grandparents.

Thanks to those that took the time to look and help.

I read it as M. Schara. It is unclear if M. represents a German (e.g. Mittel) or Czech (e.g. Malá) adjective. In Prague there is Divoká or Dolní Šárka (pronounced as scharka), but rather unoccupied.

The other person on that record originated in Austria, in Sierning village. Couldn't this be some clue?

      Jan,

Thanks for replying. I can see how it could be an M rather than "in".

I found Theresia Bauer's history and parents in Sierning, Steyr, Austria. Her father was a clothes maker, but I haven't been able to find much more detail on him. Her mother's side, I've got another 4-5 generations back, but all in Austria.

Franz and Theresia married and moved to Vienna in around 1854-1857 (there appears some overlap). Their marriage record states he was born in Prag, Böhem which is the trail of breadcrumbs lead me to the above record.

His father's record is dated 1830, so I assume they moved to Prague around then with the children being born beforehand. Here is a link to the record of the father in Prague:

Finding where either Franz Lukas was born could help me work my way back further on that branch of the family. Unfortunately, even though that record shows a lot of the family and dates, the locations are still absent.

      Thanks again for your time.
