This is taken from the Ottenbach baptismal register - but it is documenting a baptism in Maschwanden.

    Johannes Siedler / Susanna Jenta

    Anna

    Jakob Siedler v(on) Ott(enbach) / Anna Siedler g(eborene) Schnebeli

    (born) 17.02. / (baptised) 04.03.1827

    Maschwanden

    Here's the Maschwanden record:

    Maschwanden-Tauf-1827-0304-Sidler-Anna.jpg

Anna is mentioned (as daughter) on 1.8) Johannes Sidler (1777-1834) … together with her illegitimate daughter Anna.

WSeelentag It is very interesting that Anna Sidler was baptized in Maschwanden. It makes me wonder why? In any case thanks for the Maschwanden record. I still can't find the record in the Ottenbach Kirche records other than what we have here. Also thanks for the work you do on the Forum.

When I first began all of this finding/translating documents 5 years ago. A person helped me for a year plus and I thought I was very fortunate. Then another person helped for two years and I knew I was fortunate. Then you started working with me and I am in awe at the help you have given me. Your dedication, unselfishness, kindness, skills and tenacity are beyond any help I have ever received. Thank you!!! May all your dreams come true. Kent

If you check 1.8) Johannes Sidler (1777-1834) - see my last post - you will notice that the father worked as tailor in Maschwanden, and all 3 children were baptised in Maschwanden.

"I still can't find the record in the Ottenbach Kirche records other than what we have here."

Well - that IS the record in Ottenbach - what else do you expect to find?

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/profile/WSeelentag Where does Johannes live?

I must be missing something. In 1795 Johannes is a "Schneider ist zu Affoltern." The 1812 court record says Johannes was a "citizen of Ottenbach." I think Johannes worked in Maschwanden before his marriage. His marriage was announced in various places and is referred to as being from Ottenbach. But he was married in Zürich-St. Peter. He died in Ottenbach.

On the other hand the Zürich marriage record says: Johannes Siedler von Ottenbach (Schneider, zu Maschwanden) und Susanna Jenta von Etenhausen, der Pfarr Wezikon.

(Maschwanden record) Johannes Siedler of Ottenbach and Susanna Jenta of Etenhausen of the parish of Wetzikon were legally promulgated here as at their previous place of residence.
    (Maschwanden) Dec. 5 (1824)

Summary: So, did he starts life in Ottenbach, worked as a Schneider in Affoltern and Maschwanden before his marriage, got married in Zürich. And then he lives in Maschwanden where he had all three of his children and finally dies in Ottenbach. Or does he live in Ottenbach and just have children and a job 3.5 miles away in Maschwanden. (seems unlikely.)

Johannes Sidler was a citizen of Ottenbach - which is no proof that he ever lived there - he may have, but we don't know (he was buried in Ottenbach - likely, but not necessarily, where he died).

Problem: we never found his baptismal entry - see 1.8) Johannes Sidler: Unstimmigkeit beim Geburtsdatum 25.07.1777: I doubt this date is correct - with a sister Elisabeth baptised in Aug 1777 (exact day not sure). Given the possibility that the age at death isn't quite correct, you could try to find his baptism at a different date - check 1) Hans Rudolf Sidler (1742-1801) und Nachkommen for "potential gaps" between the siblings.
