Discussion copied from Julie Denise55 from Announcements

@Julie Denise55 I have copied your letter here under New Discussion where other members can see it and provide you with help if they can. Here is your message:
I'm stuck in trying to find my mother's birth certificate and marriage certificate. Plus also my fathers birth certificate.
They both lived in Asolo Treviso Italy. My mum was born in 1920. And Dad born 1909, Not sure what year they married but I'd say in 1940s.
I have searched under Asolo. Can't find them at all. Typed names in search but nothing comes up for them.
Could anyone on here give me some suggestions on where else I can find them. Asolo doesn't have much as in researching records. Well not that I can see so far.
Thank you
Julie

Just to clarify, first we need to know if both of your parents are deceased for privacy reasons. If they are deceased, please provide their birth names, your mother's maiden name, your father's last name, and any other information you have such as death records. This will help us provide you with more information on where to search for their records if they are available. Thank you.

HHi LINDA TG
It's my first time on here and not familiar with how it works. But firstly, I'd like to say thanks for replying to my message.
As for information on my parents. Both are deceased.
My Mother Eufrasia Maria Bazzacco (maiden name Dametto) was born in Asolo Treviso Italy on 23rd January 1920 and died in Griffith NSW Australia on 22nd March 2006.
My Dad Eugenio Bazzacco was born in San Vito Altivole Treviso Italy on 1st April 1909 and died in Griffith NSW Australia on 11th July 1988.
I believe they got married in 1948. But not sure if it is correct.
I have searched under Asolo Treviso. Treviso venuto But am having no luck.
If someone could give me some suggestions where else to look for their birth and marriage certificates will be of great help.
I hope this information helps ..
Thank You

Thank for that information, it was a great help. I see that you have found your parents on FamilySearch Family Tree. I see that another user is listed as adding all of your father's information. Did you know that you can collaborate with him by sending him a private message, clicking on his name? That will open the chat feature and allow you to ask him where he found that information and ask for his sources. The sources are most important to prove the accuracy of the dates of birth, death & other information. Attaching those sources to their appropriate records adds proof that they have been verified as correct, removing any question of possible misinformation.
On the top of the home page, this link will take you to the: Italy Genealogy Resourse Research Link, but before you start a deeper research, we have a great researcher here named @Cousin Vinny you knows a lot about availability of Italian records and can probably tell you where to find the birth records if they are available. I have tagged his name and he will probably answer because he is a great help to those who need assistance.I wish you the best of luck in your continued research and thank for joining the Italy Research group.

Ok just saw your msg.
Thanks Linda. I'm pretty sure I've been through Italy Genealogy research. But will try contacting @cousin Vinny.
As for the other user. I have already seen his information on dad. But no birth certificate or marriage certificate.
Thanks again

The 1920 birth records for Asolo are in a folder that also contains 1924-1925 births and that folder (5364139) is locked for privacy reasons because it contains birth records less than 100 years old.
https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/2387875
Once FamilySearch is allowed by the record owners to release the privacy restrictions, you would be able to look at the records in the folder.
There are no Altivole records available online after 1815 at this time.
If you don't want to wait for a year or more for the restrictions on the FamilySearch images to be lifted, your only option is to contact the comune of Asolo directly to request a copy of the birth record.

I would also note that if you are looking only for the date of your parents' marriage as opposed to the full marriage certificate, it may be contained on your mother's birth record once that becomes available. If the town was made aware of the event (or if they were married in Asolo), they often included a note on the individuals' birth records that indicated the marriage date and new spouse's name. That was how I found the marriage date and my great-great-grandmother's original name. Good luck in your hunt!
