The article you provide a link to is to change the starting person in your FamilySearch account.

Currently you cannot set a single ancestor as the starting person for everyone in the family group tree. The starting person within the family group tree is really about who you are in the family group tree and links your FamilySearch account to that particular profile. As such, it is individually set for each member of the family group.
The article that you posted can be used to change who you set as your family tree start person. However, you will need to copy his profile ID from your family group tree and paste it into that block. The system cannot search for it within your family group tree. However, this will still only set YOUR start person. All of your siblings would need to set him as their start person for themselves.
Know that setting this start person will make it impossible to switch to the FamilySearch Tree in the tree selector drop-down, as you have set your 'home person' to a person in your family group tree so it will always go to that person in the family group tree. That may not be an issue, because you can see all the deceased ancestors in the FamilySearch Tree by following the ancestors of the living people in your family group tree. Just don't be surprised that clicking on the FamilySearch Tree in the tree selector dropdown takes you back to your family group tree, not the FamilySearch Tree.
