John Saline (Savilaakso)
HI!
I'm working on a research project trying to find out as much as I can about John Saline, the first Finnish member of the Church. He was born in Oulu, Finland around 1831 and moved to United States as a young adult. He also worked as a sailor in finland and maybe in the united states. I'm trying to find out who baptised him, and how he made it to the US. If you have any tips or ideas about where to look, I would appreciate it!
Thank you!!
Eliza

I noticed that I didn't give you any sources to follow! All information I've gathered is from Uleåborgs domkyrkoförsamling.
The first source is from Rippikirja 1827- 1833 page 57https://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/kirjat/Kirkonkirjat/oulu/rippikirja_1827-1833_tksrk_ik132/62.htmThe second source is the index where I found the first source, I can't link directly to Uleåborg so on the left side on the index page you need to go to "Church records" then look for
"Oulun tuomiokirkkoseurakunta"
