GGF Domenico Capocci
I am looking for my great grandfather who was working in Dusseldolf germany. His name:
Domenico Capocci born 09. April 1878 in Picinisco Italy, Lost in Germany around 1909…
The story goes that he was working as a street musician, my Great grand mother Maria Grazia Capocci b; 03.06.1880 was with him as well, she was expecting my grandfather Giuseppe Capocci born in dusseldolf 28 June 1909 ( i have confrimed this with a birth cert from Dusseldolf council). Maria Grazia took Giuseppe back to Italy to be looked after by family. On return to Dusseldolf my GGM Maria Grazia could not find Domenico and even went to the local police station to report it. However he was never found. In those days without a death cert, my GGM could not get assistance from the government in Italy to support her family. I would like to find out if possible as to what happened to Domenico Capocci.

@LidiaRaucci1 Have you searched the German Melderegisters (Moving Records)? I realize that he could have gone anywhere in the country, or gone back to Italy separately from his wife, or died before she returned to Dusseldorf, but the Melderegister may be a starting point for your research.
Germany Population Records • FamilySearch (FamilySearch Wiki page)
"Police began keeping records of each German's residence in the 1840s. Citizens were required to tell the police at the local registration office (Meldeamt or Einwohnermeldeamt) when they moved. The records created are called registrations (Melderegister) or residents lists (Einwohnerregister). They are usually found at the city archives. Formats vary from bound volumes to individual one- or two-sided index cards or sheets. Earlier records may only list the head of household. Later records include every member of the family."
"To use the records, you must know the approximate years a person lived in a town. The records usually give a person's name, birth date, birthplace, occupation, each residence in the city, and where he or she moved. These records supplement church records and civil registration. The FamilySearch Library has a selection of these records, most notably in Hamburg, Sachsen, and Thüringen. For example, the library has over 4,000 films for Leipzig (1890-1949). Population registers are found in the Place Search of the catalog under:"
