    @Lane Brooksby

    The Data Quality Checker is making no judgement as to whether information on a profile is correct or not. All it is doing is comparing data in a source to data on a profile. If they disagree, it cannot make any judgement as to which is correct. That can only be done by the researcher.

    When there is a conflict such as you are pointing out here, there are four possible situations that I have run across so far:

    I. The profile has a mistake. In this case, fix the profile. If the original research on the profile was done well and entered correctly, this will be the least common situation.

    II. The index has a mistake. In this case, edit the index if you can and if you want to. If you can't edit the index or if you don't want to spend your time doing that, it can be helpful to others if you put a note on the indexed source regarding the error. Then dismiss the quality flag:

    III. The indexed source is attached to the wrong person. In this case, detach the source. If possible attach it to the correct source so it does not get attached incorrectly again.

    IV. The original record was indexed correctly but that original record has an error. In this case definitely put a note on the indexed source as to why it has been concluded that the original record has an error then dismiss the flab.

    @Lane Brooksby can you provide a PID (person id #) where you are seeing this?

    Here is a video showing how to correct an indexed record:  https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/how-do-i-correct-an-indexed-record
