Can't Login Via FamilyTree App

I am unable to login using the Family Tree App. I have tried the following logins:

  1. Continue with Church Account: after entering my password, it hangs on a screen that shows the Church logo and then my username, but proceeds no further
  2. Continue with Username: after entering my password and pressing "Sign In", it spins, and then takes me right back to the same screen, without logging me in.

Troubleshooting I've tried (I'm using a Samsung A53 with Android 14 and MS Edge)

  1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app (showing version 5.0.6)
  2. Cleared the app cache
  3. Allowed all permissions
  4. Rebooted the phone
  5. Verified both login approaches (username and password) work on familysearch.org
  6. Intentionally typed in wrong password, which results in an error prompt that the username/password was incorrect.

    Sorry I got busy and didn't respond to my original post saying I finally solved my issue. Hopefully this will help anyone else who encounters a similar issue:

    Apparently the Family Tree app pushes over to your default browser to do your log in. For me, that is Edge. And my Edge had a security setting turned on that prevented an external app (Family Tree) from running. To turn on/off from within Edge:

    1. Settings
    2. Privacy, security and services
    3. Block opening external apps
      1. Turn off

    I'm not wild about having to turn that setting off, but Family Tree logged in just fine after that.

    Can you send some screen shots, maybe that will get some conversations going.
