How to remove an entry (person) from a family group tree

There is no fundamental reason why your husband's family should not be added to a family group tree unless your father is keen to limit it to close family members.
If you added the records and no one else has edited them, you should be able to delete them.

Thank you for your reply Graham! I may be missing some basic knowledge about how familysearch.org works, and I can’t seem to educate myself. I do not necessarily want to delete the people entirely, I would not mind keeping them in my own tree (or even starting a second family group with my husband), but I do not believe they add much value to my father’s beautifully crafted group tree. So is there a way for me to just remove them from there?

If you want more information about family group trees, I suggest you visit
The important point to remember is that records of deceased persons added to a family group tree are also in the main Family Tree with the same ID numbers. Living people are different. Those records have different IDs to the same person in your private tree (this being part of the main Family Tree but records of living people can only be seen by you) or in a different family group tree. It is possible to copy records from your private tree but you cannot copy records from a family group tree to your private tree or to another family group tree. You will need to recreate them.

Thank you Graham, your reply has helped me a lot more than the Family Group Trees Learning Center did. Because now I understood that when I went to delete my husband's family from the family group tree, even though the interface made it look like I was deleting them everywhere, I was actually only deleting them from the family group tree since they are entirely disconnected from how they exist in my own family tree. I managed to do what I originally wanted to do :)
