Ordinance Ready shouldn't be at the top.

I think the new page is fine, though I'm not convinced the old page needed to be redone: it worked. Looking at them side-by-side, it's basically the same modules, just in a different order. The primary difference is that more stationary stuff is on top, and the feed of ancestral photos n things is much harder to find: the page is much, much more static over all.
I don't think that Ordinance Ready should be at the top; probably midway down the sidebar: it's not actually research. Putting it in at the center top will feed the perception that already exists that Ordinance Ready is enough. Our local youth leaders already think that 5-15 minutes per teen a few days before the temple trip is "doing family hisotry": box checked, lets move on. Putting that so prominently at the top not only suggests that this is the case, it also means that they'll come, hit the button (which seems to be basically just semi-targetted temple file), and leave —giving no opportunity for them to be curious about what else there is. No chance that they'll be drawn in by the photos that their Great Aunt recently uploaded: those have been banished to the bottom of the page. No opportunity to wonder, "hey, what's this?" because they just log in, push the Ordinances Ready button, and leave: mission accomplished. Additionally, for those of us who are researching and sharing to the temple, it means that it's just so much that we have to scroll past before we can get to something that's actually useful.
I use the Recenly Viewed People very heavily, so I'm glad that's easy to find, but it's really been fine at the side: the loss of the photo feed is a pretty significant loss. It's too far down.
The ads at the side hold no value at all: they should go. Those who care about RootsTech already know; those who don't will ignore it, same as any commecial ad gets ignored. It's wasted space. You've got a full page ad already on the login page, which runs for months. It's enough.
The Help Others at the bottom of the sidebar is perfect. That's great.

Thanks for the feedback and comments @Ritsumei Many people have asked for "moveable" widgets so they can determine what is the best layout for them personally - I have added your comments. There are many reasons changes are necessary including reaching a world-wide audience and the fact that many use only their phones for family history. More about the reasons for the changes can be found in the FAQ's.
