    @GenTracer Kirkpatrick,

    I assume what you are asking is the following: "I have created a CET via Gedcom upload. Now I want to upload a second Gedcom that includes a new branch of the tree and I'd like to have all the new people added to my existing CET." If I understood your query correctly, here is the best answer I can give at this time.

    There is no currently deployed feature that would allow you to update an existing CET by uploading an updated Gedcom. While such a feature has been discussed, and I appreciate your interest in such a feature, I cannot promise if it will be done or when. The reason I can't commit is that there will soon be a much better way than Gedcom re-upload…

    Patrons who are not committing to doing all of their genealogical work on FamilySearch in their CET, but who require an external 3rd party software product to capture conclusions on the desktop or web, Should probably choose to create a CET from within their chosen software product and not create a tree via Gedcom upload. If you create a CET from within your chosen software product, your CET on FamilySearch will be tied to the tree in your other software and the two can work together to sync any changes between them. This will eliminate most of the manual work of keeping the two trees coordinated. If you add an entire branch to your tree on the desktop, that entire branch can sync up to your CET with minimal interaction.

    This feature to create a CET from within your chosen 3rd party software product is NOT available today. However, FamilySearch engineers have been working closely with most leading genealogy software vendors and they are actively integrating with the new CET system. In coming months we anticipate working with these vendors to invite our early access patrons who use specific 3rd party products to come and be the first to use these new integrated products. It is not FamilySearch's role to pre-announce the commitment or development status for any 3rd party company. If you have an interest in their plans relative to CET, please reach out to those companies directly.

    For the early access patrons who already have a CET today created by Gedcom upload, but then later decide that they need that tree tied to an external software product, we are exploring allowing the software product to ask FamilySearch which Gedcom created trees pertain to the user account and letting the patron choose one. The software "might" then be able to pull down the entire CET into the software and then keep the trees in sync.

    @GenTracer Kirkpatrick thank you, again for helping us test early access CET. I will add your request to our requests/enhancements and keep a log of it.
