Researching Hyrum Hunt (1840-1880) - Death

LOOKING FOR INFO/SUGGESTIONS. Unable to find any cause of death for Hyrum Hunt (LH2F-SV3). Son of the renown Jefferson Hunt of early church history. Readily find information for Jefferson ALL other children, but not for Hyrum (1840-1889). Have searched FamilySearch, Ancestry, Newspapers.com, Genealogybank.com, Google, etc. Nothing. He was only 40 when he died in Oxford, Bannock, Idaho, on 25 Dec 1880. Death Certificates from this era (pre-1912) are with Oneida County. Contacted Oneida County Recorder's Office. They gave up searching at some point, saying these early records are "not organized." Any help? Ideas? Thanks.

Idaho State Archives
- The Idaho State Archives has original hard-copy and microfilm copies of the 1880 Mortality Schedules for Idaho.
- These schedules contain more information than the population schedules.
.To have a researcher assist with Idaho records from the Idaho Historical Society, you can contact
https://history.idaho.gov/requests/
Not sure if you have tried all of this, if not hope you can find what you are looking for.

I tried the Lab experiment "Full text Search" and it found some of Hyrum's sibling's death certificates, but not Hyrum's.

I serve at the Idaho Falls FamilySearch Center. We have many early Ward records on microfilm. I've seen some that include cause of death. I can check them if you happen to know what Ward he might have been living in at his death.

Re: Suggestions:
- I explored the Idaho State Historical Society "Searchable Indexes," but nothing on Hyrum Hunt. Then submitted a request via "History/Idaho.gov/Requests, per suggestion, with my inquiry. They searched their "un-digitized newspaper microfilm from 1880" and responded that they "could not find any mention of Hyrum Hunt." They then suggested that I check "Digitized Newspapers" via "Chronicling America" as well as the "Marshall Public Library" online link. Explored both of these options. Still nothing on Hyrum Hunt.
- Re: Jeffrey Bryant offer: I do not know what ward Hyrum Hunt was living in at his death. The 1880 U.S. Census (page 69, Enumeration District 25) identifies him as living in household/family #665, in "Oxford Precinct" of "the County of Oneida, State of Idaho" when enumerated on the "29th & 30th day of June, 1880." Just in case that might help identify his ward?
- Re: LaRue Turner comment: Yes, I expect his death certificate will have "a cause of death" if it can be located.
Thanks to all for comments and ideas. If any other ideas or options present, I continue to search for information on Hyrum's 25 December 1880 death. Again, two possible places (depending on the record): A) in Stockton, Bingham Co., Idaho (see: Hyrum Hunt in: Membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1830-1848; OR, B) all other sources cite "Oxford, Bannock (previously Oneida), Idaho.
Thank you all again!

Thank you so much for at least trying! That's been my outcome, as well.
It seems so unusual for the son of someone of such renown (i.e., Jefferson Hunt) to pass away with absolute NO acknowledgement in any newspapers anywhere that I could find. Then, to have no cause of death in any source - including no death certificate that can be found - when the death was of someone so young (age 40) and on such a remarkable date: Christmas Day.
All told, it remains quite puzzling. Any input or findings by anyone with better info or resources than I've found will be much appreciated! Thanks again.
