We are very excited to inform you of an incredible opportunity on the horizon that further your understanding of family history in the Middle East and North Africa: RootsTech 2025!

    • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 What is RootsTech? Organized by FamilySearch and held annually in Salt Lake City, UT, RootsTech is the world's largest professional genealogical conference and family discovery event. It brings together hundreds of genealogy professionals and hobbyists to engage with and learn from each other.
    • 🏢 Where can I participate? RootsTech is held in-person in Salt Lake City, UT. Many features, including classes, are also available online on the RootsTech website.
    • 📅 When is it held? RootsTech 2025 will run from Thursday, March 6 to Saturday, March 8. In-person attendance is free on Saturday, also known as Family Discovery Day.
    • ✔️ How do I register? Register to attend in-person here, or register for free online features here.
    • 💻 Why should I attend? RootsTech provides access to developments in the genealogy industry, expert professional insight into family history research, and networking opportunities with other genealogy enthusiasts. Additionally, RootsTech maintains a virtual university of classes covering a vast array of topics, most of which can be accessed here. For example, check out this video by Dr. Akram Khater on overcoming the challenges of connecting with your Middle Eastern roots. This year's videos will include a slue of courses focused on the Middle East and North Africa, such as how to use the FamilySearch Wiki to guide your search for ancestors in the region, even if you are in the diaspora.

Please comment if you have any questions about RootsTech or are planning on attending and would like to meet up. We'll see you there!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at RootsTech either online or in person!! I am looking forward to stopping by the MENA booth and seeing all that FamilySearch has to offer in relations to the Arab World. I will also be chatting with RootsTech online participants at the NSAB (National Society for Arab and Arab American Genealogy) RootsTech Virtual Expo booth. Thanks for sharing this and excited that we are only a few days away!!
