What to do about birthdates on a Jiapu that only has generations?
My husband is from China and we both read Chinese. We have started uploading lots of the people in the Jiapu we found from his dad’s side. However, the Jiapu only has generations and doesn’t have specific dates for the birth of each individual. We are wondering what to do to make these ancestors qualify for temple ordinances.

Hi Rozlyn, it is a common question that most Jiapu have in this situation. There is no perfect solution so far. My suggestion is to guess a year, for example, use "about 1826". What I did for my family tree was:
- I guess Brothers/Sisters, I separated their birth years between 2-3 years differently.
- Guess about 20 years between your parents and your grandparents about 20-23 years
I believe we need to do our best, Heaven knows and will make up the rest that we are unable to know.
