When/How do Quality Details update after corrections?

One of my ancestors had a problem under "Source Consistency." Most of his sources gave his birthplace as Tennessee, but one source said it was Texas.

I checked that census, and it was a transcription error. The census-taker had written "Tenn." in cursive, as an abbreviation for "Tennessee." I could tell it was not "Texas" because other individuals on the same page did have their birthplace as Texas and it was written quite differently. (I also asked two others to give me their impressions of the handwriting for confirmation.)

I updated the index, correcting the birthplace to Tennessee. But, this issue still appears in "Source Consistency" as if it has not been corrected.

Does it just take a while for the system to update? If so, how long?

Thank you.

Hi Meagan. It had been taking the system about 24 to 36 hours to update. Recently, that seems to have ground to a halt. See this post I made a few days ago:

A report has been made so we should see an answer/results shortly. With the holidays, it may take a few days.

Thank you Áine! Sorry I missed your thread - I get into information overload on this site.

I actually just checked and now the profile I was writing about has been updated - "Source Consistency" now has 0 issues. I hope this is fixed for others as well.

Update: a ticket has been created to address the issue of the time it takes for the index to update, and the DQS to recalculate.

Great news. I have to admit that I'd be more inclined to correct an index if doing so immediately removed the DQS flag. If instead I have to come back in days to weeks to see if the flag actually ever disappeared, I find that I am less likely to correct the index and tend to just dismiss the flag. That positive feedback that correcting the index actually did something makes the work of correcting more worthwhile.
