Translation Help - 1863 Death Record Rosario Turrisi
Hello all .. hoping someone can help me with some translation. I think I may have found my 3rd great grandfather's death record from 1863 (#94). I believe he was born in 1810 and this record is for a Rosario Turrisi who was 54 years ago which is pretty close. But I cannot read some of the info on the record. For instance, after his name - Rosario Turrisi - it says something that looks like it might be "conjuzato" meaning married? (if that is it, I am assuming that means his wife was still alive at this time?) I also can't read his occupation (my Rosario was a shoemaker but what is reflected in this record doesn't look like "calzolaio" to me - is there another word meaning shoemaker perhaps?). I would also like to confirm the date he died, and finally, I am not able to read the name of his parents.
I really appreciate the assistance! Thanks in advance!
Liz

Yes, conjugato, probably still married. The occupation is nessuna (none) but that may be a mistake; I see nessuna for the infants and very young children also.
It looks like he died on either the 11th or 13th of July 1863. The index says the 11th.
I believe his parents are Stefano (deceased) and Maria Giuseppa Drago (deceased).
I see an Ancestry tree with him married to Anna Matassa. This record would seem to fit since he had children named Stefano and Maria Giuseppa.

I agree with @Cousin Vinny
Undici for day of death (11) is one of the few words there that is clearer than the rest.
Great job!

Thank you both so much! I wonder if maybe Rosario's occupation was listed as 'none' because perhaps he was no longer working as a shoemaker as his health declined? Or as you said, Cousin Vinny, maybe it was just an error. Either way, it sounds like I found the right record and as a result now know the names of my 4th great grandparents. Now on to see if I can find Rosario and Anna's marriage record, and Anna's death record.
Thanks again and happy holidays to you both and to everyone on the site. I appreciate the help I get here so much. 😊
