Confusing profile with extra refrences.
Im looking at
MAIN ISSUE.
Charles Stephen Kirkland (1830–1910) • Person • Family Tree
And his wife ..
Margaret Hislop (1839–1904) • Person • Family Tree
I'm no expert so maybe I either don't understand or have made a mistake but ..
When you go into their profiles they are listed twice once as the main person then at the bottom. Even some of the children are duplicated. Normally I think this indicates a second marrage. But I dont think this is the case.. I tried adding them together as husband and wife but this did not resolve the issue. It seems to stick. (please see bottom for picture)
By the way when I click on the other children at least in one case that I checked it does the same thing. It puts the parent as a spare at the bottom. Again MAYBE IM CONFUSED AND BRINGING UP SOMETHING THING THAT IS OBVIOUS TO OTHERS BUT NOT ME SORRY?
PS All the ID's are the same. so you just seem to go around in circles.
SECONDARY ISSUE.
ALSO when I go into join them I'm confused by what pops up. For example
When I try to add Stephen as spouse to Margaret H then I get the following window.
When I hover my mouse on Add Match it says "add Chares Stephen Kirland as Spouse" thats nice and clear, it would be nice if when I hovered my mouse over the parents on the right it Would say "Parents of Charles Stephen Kirkland". Or at least put them up top as inidcated in my edit. From my possition, becasue there is a line between Charles and Margaret these are Margaret's Parents, (which they are not) You might say. "Well you know they are the parents you said it yourself !" Yes but I am alreadty dealing with something I dont understand eg. the two listing of the profile people. So I think maybe there is a problem somewhere, and we know from previous discussions that things can be mixed up. I say to myself "Is this another mix up where the parents have gotten confused" Just my thoughts.
Thank you again.

The issue is that some children have been linked to both parents as well as to one parent only. This can arise in a number of ways. For example, if a marriage record shows the father's names, they get added without a mother. Then, perhaps, both parents are discovered. The records of the two fathers are merged but the child is shown as linked to both parents and separately to the father.
The way to resolve this is to unlink the children from the set of parents that only displays the father or mother, but not both.
To do this click the pencils next to the children's names where they appear as a child.
