Hi, can you help me today on this 1664 Census in Borge. At the Holm farm. I can read Jens Eriksen and is son Erik Jensen, but I cannot make out what is after that. I am documenting this line of my ancestry so that actual records are identified. Love it when it happens!

Thanks

Steve

Column 1 (farm) - Holm, 5 skippund korn (skippund is a unit of measurement)

Column 2 (residents)- Jens Erichson, 80 years old, uses 1 skippund and 1 fierding (units of measurement)

Hans Halvorson, 44 years old, uses 1 skippund and 1 fierding

Erich Jenson, 30 years old, uses 1 skippund and 1 fierding

Ronnou Halfvorsdaatter, uses 1 skippund and 1 fierding

Column 4 (servant boys)- Anders A__son, 32 years old

I tried to find an explanation of why they were paying attention to corn and these units of measurement. Suffice it to say, they were either taxing them or trying keep track of what was being produced/used. The purpose of the census in general was to determine the number of eligible men who could be used in a possible war.
