Hello!

I came across a baptism record where the child and the father's surnames are listed with an "alias". The paternal grandfather is also listed with the same alias. I've never seen this before and was wondering if anyone else had come across this or had information on why an alias would be used. Here's the URL:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-YSG9-T85?view=index&personArk=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3ADYWB-G82M&action=view&cc=1473204

The record is on the top right, page 271, for Maria Justa Martinez alias Mendes. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Repaired URL https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-YSG9-T85 to make it easier for anyone to view.
