(Grr, the Community software's overhelpfulness knows no bounds: if I don't precede the line numbers with a word, it proceeds to turn my pasted text into a numbered list, starting with 1, i.e., losing the actual line numbers. Can we please get all of these stupid "smarter-than-thou" processes turned off?)

No, I don't see any evidence of an epidemic. The closest this register-page gets is two cases of diphtheria (torokgyík) in Méhi.

    1850
    April 12.
Deceased: György Duczman, Mária Szobonya's husband
Age 55 years, Roman Catholic, cotter
    Cause: [blank]
    Last rites: received
Place of death and burial: Levárt

    1851
    December 18.
    Deceased: Julianna, Joannes Radnoti's daughter
Age 1 1/2 years, Roman Catholic, farmer's daughter
Cause: influxus sanguinis [literally by parts: "influx of blood"]
    Last rites: innocent
Place of death and burial: Levárt

(1850 is in Hungarian, 1851 is back to Latin. It figures that it's the latter that actually has a cause of death.)
