Family Tree Brick Wall - Catanzaro Italy
I have hit a brick wall with my paternal line. I can't go beyond tree member GWRF-TKX - Giovanni Fratto. Based on my review of the marriage record for his son, he was born in San Giovanni, Albi, Catanzaro Italy. I guessed the birth year to be around 1835. The closest I can get to that year is 1824 on the Ancestors Portal. I have reviewed birth records for years 1820 - 1824 for Albi, but could not find a birth record for Giovanni for those years.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions for how I might be able to break through this brick wall.
Thanks
Bob Fratto

Have you looked for Giovanni's marriage record? Also, the marriage publication for his son Antonio says Giovanni was already deceased in 1878, so I would look for that death record as well. The marriage record would be more accurate on age though.

Thanks for the suggestions!

One death record I have found so far looks like it could be match but how can I be sure that this is the correct Giovanni Fratto. The place of death looks correct and the age of 48 at the time of death is possible, but are there any other clues in the death record that could confirm that this is Antonio's Father?
Thanks!

First, his listed wife is a close match for Antonio's mother, Antonia Anania on Antonio's marriage banns found here:

On the death record you posted, Giovanni's wife is Antonia Nania.
Giovanni's father is listed as Tommaso and his mother is Carmela Pullano (?ullano) - it would make me certain if you found a younger sibling of Antonio that was named Tommaso or Carmela.
I am leaning toward agreeing that this is him. The above would seal it.1 -
Thanks for the reply. Great suggestions that I will pursue to try to confirm that this is the correct Giovanni. If so, this would be the breakthrough that I am looking for.
