Hello to all,
My mother was an orphan in Chicago from 1933 until around 1940. I never knew my heritage on her side until I did a DNA test and then shared my results on a forum such as this. I turns out that 3 of my mom's 4 grandparents were from the Czech Republic. Her other grandparent was from Macedonia. With some research I have found that the Czech grandparents were from Kacice and Ceska Trebova. The names involved are Hybl for Ceska Trebova and Pospisil for Drysice before Kacice. They all immigrated to Chicago. The Macedonian Grandpa's name was Latkoff. I would love to travel to these places someday. Has anyone been to or near these cities? They all look great in books that I have studied. Thank you! Gary Fruland, Newark, Illinois.

Gary, I would post this as a new post and not as a comment. More people will be able to see this info. Have you been able to locate the records from that area? Have you checked www.mapy.cz to see a current map and a historical map. They might have posted pictures too.
