French form of surname "Gommer"
I'm looking for people surnamed Gommer who came from Breitenborn, Hessen. There are two places named Breitenborn in the area, and I think that it is the one belonging to Gründau. As far as I can tell, the church in Breitenborn was a filial church of the one in Waldensberg. The issue is that the church records in Waldensberg are in French and the people in the records have French names, or at least French forms of their names.
I haven't noticed any Gommers as I've looked through the images and so I wonder whether I need to look for these people under a different name, the French forms of their names. Does anyone know what the French form of the surname "Gommer" might be? Forenames that I'm interested in are "Johann Jost", "Maria Catharina" and "Anna Catharina". French forms of these names could also be helpful, as well as any other pointers that could be helpful regarding my search.
Vielen Dank :)

The family "Gemmer" can be found quite often in connection with Breitenborn.
In a German Wikipedia article about Breitenborn it says that Breitenborn belonged to the parish of Spielberg between 1734-1830. And only after that time it belonged to Waldensberg.

What time period are we talking about? It seems rather odd that the records for this area are in French (it did not belong to the Napoleonic empire). Even if they were, surnames were not usually translated, unlike first names. Can you provide an image or a link to the church records of Waldensberg?

Thank you so much! I found the Wikipedia article you mentioned and learned that Breitenborn (Gründau) was a part of the Gemeinde Büdingen until 1734, when it started to belong to Spielberg (as you mentioned). I'm looking at people born in the very early 1700's and so looked in the registers in Büdingen and was able to find an entry for one of my people! I was really happy to find it, so thank you for your help!
