Incorrect Calculated Ages

I've recently been doing a lot of research in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. A number of the subjects have delayed birth registrations. The images are restricted, and I have retrieved many by visiting my local AL.

I have documented several apparent problems.

• The delayed birth registration form calls for the ages of the parents when the child was born.
• The extract format calculates the parents' years of birth.
• The parents' years of birth is being calculated using the year of the delayed registration, not from the year of child's birth.

The result is an error in the estimated year of birth of a parent. That, in turn, causes the PQS to call out an inconsistency where there is none.

The PQS calls out an inconsistency in Rose's year of birth -

Rose's sons, born in 1912 and 1913 , registered their births in 1943.
