Help with marginal notes on marriage record for Carl Gustav Volmer and Anna Maria Auguste Altheide
Please help me understand the marginal notes on this marriage record. I have a birth record for Anna Maria Auguste and her twin Johanne Maria Louise which seems to indicate that Anna Maria Auguste died at the age of 8 months. I also have a death record that says the same thing. Does the note in the margin have any bearing on this information? The birth date and place for the bride and the names of her parents match those on the birth record for Anna Maria Auguste Altheide. The marriage record is found at MyHeritage. I used to be able to attach an image to this request but cannot figure out how to do that now. What happened?? Thank you for helping me solve this mystery.

Hello @Robin Stromberg,
There's been an ongoing system issue with attaching images to community posts.
At the home page of the Germany Research community, under the section entitled Announcements there is a post entitled "How to upload a picture". This post provides instructions for a workaround to the problem which may help you.
I don't have access to MyHeritage so I am unable to view the image using the link you provided.
Sincerely, Robert Seal_1

My German grammar and spelling is not very good but the note added on 31 August 1953 to the 1898 marriage record looks like it says:
"Auf Anordnung des Amtsgericht in Bielefeld wird berichtigend vermackt, dass die vornamen der Ehefrau Johanne Marie Luise sind."
which I think translates as:
"By order of the District Court in Bielefeld, it is corrected that the wife's first names are Johanne Marie Luise."
That's quite a mistake to make on a marriage record and remarkable that it took 55 years to correct!

Thank you.

Go figure! A similar mistake was made on her sister's marriage record.
