What is the age requirement to witness a baptism?
I have an 1843 protestant baptismal record. What are the requirement to be a witness to a baptism?

The answer is - it depends on the religion, location, and timeframe. In most cases, in order to be a baptismal witness/sponsor/godparent, a person had to at least have been confirmed. For Lutherans, this was around age 14. People who have not been baptized, or have been declared "dishonorable," cannot act as witnesses.
If you can read the old German Fraktur font, there is a complete description of the practices around baptism in Baden here - https://www.google.com/books/edition/Versuch_eines_badischen_evangelisch_luth/eEsmCbwixOkC?hl=en&gbpv=1

Here's a similar volume, specifically for Pommern -

This is helpful thank you! This witness lived in Köslin and the person is listed as a knect (farmhand/servant). I don't know when he was born, but he was either a son or a nephew to a resident in a small village.
