Read Only Merge Assistance
A contributor has just added a GEDCOM duplicating the branch of Lyndon Baines Johnson.
I've merged all the profiles I can, but the profile for Lyndon Baines Johnson 2M79-4JT is Read Only.
Please merge GY5D-CPN into 2M79-4JT.
And, for his spouse, Claudia Alta Taylor, please merge GYTL-6JH into LCCS-DTV.

I too have encountered this same problem many times (GEDCOM uploads that overwrite sources or create duplicates) in my lines and with people I help. While "guidance" is for people to verify, it doesn't happen. Too many uploaders don't take the time to verify entries, consider different spellings, initials, and other slight differences for records of the same person. Worse, if there were any sources in the data they copied, the sources do not carry over. FS really needs to come up with a programming way of prohibiting bulk GEDCOM uploads to the global tree, while permitting bulk uploads to Genealogies.

@MLV2 My post was not a complaint. To get read-only profiles merged, we need to request help from support staff with access.
