Here are a couple ways to locate living relatives:

    1. Look up your ancestors in MyHeritage.com and find family trees for the brothers and sisters of your ancestors. For example, this is a family tree for Kari Olsdatter's sister Anna Folkedal https://www.myheritage.com/research/record-1-178357981-1-500148/anna-olsdtr-helgeland-in-myheritage-family-trees?fspid=L5PL-B8S
      1. send a message to owner of the family tree and ask if they are a relative or know relatives
    2. Contact the local historical society for that area. See Hardanger Historielag (Hardanger Historical Society) https://www.hardanger-historielag.no/
      1. send an email asking if anyone can help you find living relatives
    3. Conduct manual research. It will require comfort with the Norwegian language and a couple key databases
      1. "Døde 1951-2014" https://www.digitalarkivet.no/search/119/108008
      2. Newspaper database for Norway https://www.nb.no/search?mediatype=aviser&viewability=ALL
      3. if you can find the name of a living relative and if they have a unique surname, try looking them up in Facebook
