Translation Request - Birth Record - Simon Bieda
Please help with decipering Simon's mother's surname, the witnesses and anything else that is missing. Also, I have been wondering how many families usually lived in one household of these farming communities? The church records seem indicate at least 2? What does the word Jeraph? (I think this is how it is spelled) after a name mean, such as in this record:
1794 Francisca (Franciszka) [Jeraph?:] Bieda, 16th September 1794, Hs no. 140, Mathias Lesiewicz aka Bieda, and Francisca (Franciszka) born Michalska. Witnesses: Adalbertus (Wojciech) Materna, Hedvigus (Jadwiga) Lesiewicz aka, farmers.
Scan 81,
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Mattie

Please note that it is Franciscus Bieda, a boy, not Francisca Bieda, a girl.
Franciscus Jeraph = This Franciscus Jeraph and the next birth record is also for Franciscus Jeraph, then Franciscus Borgias. It was a surname or another name of Saint Franciscus, occasionally the recorder would add it, as if to differentiate it from others, but it was never used afterwards. At home this boy would be called Franciszek.

Godparents: Simon Borzcza (?? Maybe later this surname will occur clearer) and Anna Bednarkowiczna (daughter of Bednarek)
