On Hungarian records, what does it mean when it lists "status: noble"?

"Tax-exempt", basically. (For some taxes, anyway.)

It starts losing any relevance after 1848 and is utterly meaningless after 1867.

Thanks for your help. i have probably exhausted my search of Samuel and Zsuzsanna. I've looked and looked thru images, the catalogue, etc and can't find any baptismal or death records. I'm sure, though, that she was born in Kek and he in Ujfeherto and they died in Pazony. Thanks at least for finding the marriage record. Some days I wish the dead relatives would come back for a day so I could quiz them. Now I know the questions to ask!
