    Hanß Seidler, 76-jähriger Witling von Otenbach

    So he was 76 years old and a widower: Witling is another (old) word for Witwer - no longer in use.

    Note the mark in front of the name: seems to indicate adults - is missing with children (the oldest child on that page without this mark was 14).

    Hans is already in the Bevölkerungsverzeichnis 1678 mentioned as Witling - so his wife Adelheit Lichti died before (or in) 1678.
