Zamrsk Regional Archives
Hello, I am trying to tunnel to the correct path to find Catholic church records within this archive region, for the village of Chotěboř where I have identified a substantial number of people with my surname. I cannot find any birth/marriage/death records for years prior to 1788 or so. I am guessing then, that those are part of a more regional collection of records? Any help welcome, thank you!

I can only find records back to 1788, although the town goes back to 1265. The records for Chotěboř are also available on FamilySearch.

This is a current surname finder. Please put your surname in the search box.
Also, check on MyHeritage as many Czechs post their genealogy.
They are indexing Czech records now. It is a work in progress. You can search FamilySearch (on the main page) under "Search" and "Records". Sometimes less info put in the search engine is better. If they are on FamilySearch the algorithm will put matching records in the "Research Helps" on the right-hand side of their person page. So the indexed church records matches for Czechia will appear there.

Unfortunately, Catholic church records for Chotěboř for years prior to 1788 burned down in fire in 1800.
