Ideas for Improving the Layout
I loved the new Portrait pedigree. Now, it is possible to view the ancestors of various segments together and see the family tree in a much broader and more complete way. I would like to recommend an improvement in the arrangement of the lineage lines. When I go up many generations in the tree, the lines are not uniform and become misaligned. I think it would be better if they were centralized, with the children directly beneath their respective parents.
Moreover, I would like to be able to expand all the ancestors, even if it takes time to load due to the tree's size (since some have more than 50 generations...), or have a way to download the entire expanded tree in PDF/image format. Another improvement would be to unify duplicate ancestors in the tree. For example, if a couple is first cousins, the tree could show the grandparents' consanguineous couple only once, showing only three couples instead of four. Since most trees have a lot of consanguinity in the upper generations, it would be good to have lines of different colors to unify the kinships.
I’m not sure if I explained well what I mean; I will post an image here in the chat to illustrate it better. Another thing, I find it inconvenient that the names do not appear in full. Some names, because they are long, appear as "Antonio Coelho da Si...", but it would be better if they appeared complete like "Antonio Coelho da Silva", without the ellipsis. Lastly, it would be very good if you created an option to display people without the profile picture, just the name, without leaving a blue or pink image for male and female, but just the name itself, to occupy less space and make a more compact tree, as this would reduce the spaces.
Thank you very much!

I managed to expand my tree to 20 generations, but this made the website extremely slow, so I clicked on 'print' the web page and saved it as a PDF. Then I used a PDF editor to organize it and was able to alternatively download a good part of my tree in my computer.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently, the inability to attach images in the comments is a Known Issue and is being worked on. There is a workaround to add images directly to your post. Please go to this link that will take you to the top of this group and follow the instructions to add your images directly to this post.
I'm happy to hear you were able to save the PDF and edit it to your satisfaction.

I'm thrilled to see this idea come to life! It's exactly what I envisioned over 7 years ago. I also second the motion with Henrique Nogueira Coelho's ideas. Back then, I asked many developers to create an app that would display my entire family tree at once, but none were able to. I attempted to use a MindMap program, but it became too complex. So, I resorted to CorelDRAW to create separate charts for my father's and mother's sides manually. It took me many months to finish them. It might seem a bit unconventional, but it's a labor of love.
A huge thanks to the creators for making this possible! A job well done. Here are a couple of additional requests:
- Expand All Button: Clicking individual arrows to expand everything is quite tedious, even though I only have 6 generations and 2 descendant branches. With over a thousand names, it would be fantastic to have a single button to expand the entire tree for a comprehensive view.
- PDF Export: The ability to save the family tree as a PDF file for sharing with relatives would be immensely helpful. I haven't explored this possibility yet, but sharing a digital copy is essential. Our relatives, although not church members, actively participated in compiling this tree. I promised everyone a copy in exchange for their contributions. It involved a lot of back-and-forth messaging and calls to gather information, one cousin at a time.
- Step-by-step Guide Videos: It would be nice to see some tutorials of some sort on how to use the app, just like the WPS Office app concept. Whenever you hover your cursor on a particular icon it will describe the function and a short video on how it works. As a T&FH Leader in our branch and in the stake, to help our members become familiar with the Get Involved app, I created a guide for them to follow, from how to install it to how to use it. I'm making one for Full Name Review and Verify Places as well and most probably one for Family Review, which I saw and tried for a day and at the moment it's gone.
Keep up the good work brethren and sisters, you are making a big difference. Making our job easier. I hope to see these functions.

@SUNGLAO Nestor Torres thank you for your feedback. We're happy that you are thrilled with the new Beta Portrait view.
Regarding your requests:
- This has already been submitted by another patron and is being considered.
- Henrique Nogueira Coelho posted in this thread: I managed to expand my tree to 20 generations, but this made the website extremely slow, so I clicked on 'print' the web page and saved it as a PDF. Then I used a PDF editor to organize it and was able to alternatively download a good part of my tree in my computer. Would this work for you?
- I have forwarded this to our engineers.
When I receive information, I will get back to you.

We love the effort and ideas you put into showing where improvements could be made. All of your improvements were considered. Given that we need to create features compatible with all devices:
1. having children appear directly below their parents
2. showing the parents of consanguineous parents only once
3. showing complete names inside the cards
4. displaying people without pictures or iconsthese features are not compatible for all devices so it is not possible at this time.
