Bäretswil ZH - Haushaltungsrodel - 1723 - Wild & Bosshard - Hans Heinrich & Barbara
Bäretswil ZH - Haushaltungsrodel 1723 Hans Heinrich Wild film 008014125 page 597
Fourth document down. I am very interested in the word after Comm. (sacrament).

Your file name is misleading (1726 instead of 1723).
Column headings: Elteren [parents] / Kinder [children] / Wÿßenschaft [not in the sense of science, but religious status and education] / Bücher [books] / [what looks like a last column seems to be shining through from reverse side - beginning with Bäretschweil].
Hanß Heinrich Wild - 57 / Barbara Boßhart - 48
Heinrich - 23 Com. Leßen / Verena - 21 Com. Leßen / Hanß - 18 Com. Leßen / Catharina - 17 Leßen / Barbara - 6 Inf(ans) [child]
Bücher: Testament
Leßen (today lesen) informs us that the person can read. The "ß" is confusing me a bit - makes sense as "ss" in "Wissenschaft" and "Bosshart" - but not in "Lesen". For "Hanß" one frequently finds both spellings. The writer just does not differentiate between "ß" and "s", I find a "simple s" only on combinations such as "sch" or "st".

It is interesting to see the differences in the family and religious education between 1700 and 1723.
On a Mac a file has a name and a title. I usually copy the file name into the title field. I then edit the title as needed and remove the .jpg. For me the important thing is the title. Why? Because on FS I put the date first in the title so I can view my memories in chronological order quickly, without adding date metadata. I know a PC is different.
I did a little work on your project:
Thanks for another wonderful translation. I like reading your notes and am learning a lot. 😋
All the best, Kent

Hi Kent, you write "I know a PC is different."
I don't think it has anything to do with differences between Mac and PC. When I download the 1723 Rodel page, 1726 Church Census Baretswil Parish Hans Heinrich Wild film 008014125 page 597.jpeg is offered as file name: I assume the 1726 is a typo - at least according to the State Archive catalogue there is no such Rodel for 1726.

Yes that was a typo. I make mistakes and when I do I try to correct them.
