Hello! Hello!

I am researching one of my maternal lines, MEANS or Maynes. I have exhausted the resources I have been able to access. I have searched the following:

  • burial records of the Public Records Office of Ireland https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G94F-M7G8?view=index&personArk=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AWG4L-2D6Z&action=view
  • Marriage license bonds of the Public Records Office of Ireland https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-894X-565F?view=index&personArk=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AWG75-BXN2&action=view
  • Marriages & Probate Records through Ancestry https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/62077/images/62077_b996480-00271?treeid=&personid=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=VHA187&_phstart=successSource&pId=441487
  • Northern Ireland, Valuation Revision Books https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/62658/images/i3203129-00028?treeid=&personid=&queryId=c3141829-2cc6-4a89-8dfb-fa50e6ec27a6&usePUB=true&_phsrc=VHA212&_phstart=successSource&pId=741647
  • Births, Marriages, & Deaths of civilrecords.irishgenealogy.iehttps://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1847/09337/5380813.pdf
  • PRONI https://apps.proni.gov.uk/eCatNI_IE/ResultDetails.aspx

I have a couple of ideas, but I don't know how/where to look for these records. I have several DNA matches that tie to specific parishes in Tyrone, Ireland. The records I have found in the above sources indicate these people were Presbyterians. My first thought is to look at Congregational Histories; however, I have no idea where these would be located. My second thought is individual parish registers; however, same thing. I don't know how to access these. The last ancestor I have with validated info is John Alexander Maynes, b: 28 Aug. 1826, Newry, Armagh, Ireland. His father is from Tyrone, Ireland. His father's name is Miles Maynes. He was born in Tyrone, Ireland, then emigrated to Leeds, Yorkshire, England, with his young children. Miles was a huxter, and John Alexander worked with cement.

Ultimately, my question is what could be my next research steps? What resources are out there without me going to Ireland?

Thank You,

Dari

Have you tried RootsIreland? It is fee-based, but does have extracts of Presbyterian records for County Tyrone, including some before 1826: https://www.rootsireland.ie/irish-world-family-history/tyrone-presbyterian-records/

John Grenham's website is my go-to to check what records exist and where they are held: https://www.johngrenham.com/records/county_church_full.php?county=Tyrone&search_type=full&denomination=Presbyterian
