Sweden - Translation of Note
Maria Lovisa Lindblad, born 28 March 1837 in Skagerhult. The record shows she moved from Skagerhult in 1859 but Skagerhult's record at this time period do no seem to available. I think the note is saying that she had a child out of wedlock but it died before she moved here.

I can't read all of it, but your assumptions seems correct:
fick 1858? ett o.ä. barn, som är dödt; ___ t__ ledig, enl. Kyrkoh. Åkerst__ betyg d. 21/4 59
Translation:
had an illegitimate child 1858?, who is dead; ___ ___ , according to Pastor Åkerst__'s testimony of 21 April 1859.

Thank you for the translation. Do you know anything about the records in Skagershult? It looks like the birth and death records do not start until 1862. Is it possible that the earlier records are found in another parish? I didn't find any evidence of that when I looked but maybe I am missing something.

This is what is said about Skagershult parish in Swedish Wikipedia (
):The parish was formed before 1647 by breaking out of Tångeråsa parish.
Until 1647, the parish was part of the Viby, Tångeråsa and Skagershult pastorate, and from then until 1862 it was a separate pastorate. From 1862 to 1962 the parish was again an annex parish in the pastorate of Viby, Tångeråsa and Skagershult. From 1962 to 1969 it was an annex parish in the parish of Kvistbro and Skagershult, and from 1969 to 2014 it was an annex parish in the parish of Ramundeboda and Skagershult.[3] From 2014 the parish is part of Bodarne parish. However, it appears that at least part of the church records were lost in a fire in 1893:
https://www.familysearch.org/sv/wiki/Tips;_brunna_eller_f%C3%B6rst%C3%B6rda_kyrkob%C3%B6cker
There is a "reconstruction" of the lost church books in the form of a book by Ulf Berggren (https://libris.kb.se/bib/1234615). I don't know what it contains and where it is available outside of Sweden.

This is amazing and must have taken a lot of work.
I was able to find the book and find her in the book. I used google translate and it does not appear to say anything about the child but it does tell about her father. Is the translation correct? Porla appears to be a farm in Skagershult. Bålby is listed as a farm in this same parish on image 3 of this book. Although it is not listed as a farm on the FamilySearch Research Page. She lived in Bålby and her father lived in Porla and Bålby before moving to Östra Vingåker in 1837. Am I understanding this correctly? It also shows Maria's birth month as May which is different then the record I have which shows she was born in March.
Maria Lovisa Lindblad, b 1837 28/5, fl 1859 t Holland, Tåneråsa sn. Married 1859 26/8 in Tångeråsa sn m Anders Vilhelm Olsson in Holland. Maid in Bålby 1856.
The father was Anders Ericksson Lindblad, according to Domb 1835 29/10, 1838 19/2. He was (b. 1812 15/10 Tångeråsa sn), farmer in Porla 1834-1835, Bålby 1836-1837, fl 183(7) t Ö Vingåker.0 -
I see now that the word in the original record that I couldn't read is äktenskapsledig = unmarried. So the comment is:" _ _ unmarried, according to Pastor Åkerst__'s testimony of 21 April 1859." I am not sure what the two letters/abbreviations? ("e." p.) before äktenskapsledig mean.
Great that you found the book online. You interpreted the comment correctly, just that dräng means a farmhand/servant, not a farmer. The child of Maria Lovisa died apparently shortly after birth, so this may be the reason that it is not mentioned in this "reconstruction".

I started following Anders Lindblad in Östra Vingåkers and now I am confused. He is shown as marrying Maria Andersdotter in Kvistbro 23 October 1837 and they both move to Östra Vingåkers. I am unable to access it on the Riksarkivet. There is note on the marriage record. The first part seems to be about him and the rest about her.
The clerical record shows a daughter born 24 December 1837 in Östra Vingåkers and she dies in 1851 in Östra Vingåker.
Unless there are some clues somewhere else it seems unlikely that this is her father. When I follow him from birth he is shown as moving to Skagershult in 1833 from Tångeräsa.

Were you able to see the marriage record?
I am attempting to type what is written. I hope I get it correct.
Drängen medförl behöright betygon hinderslöshele. Pigan äger hvaken några nårmare släglingar eller någon förmyndare hvarföre hennes Husbonde, Högvålb. Herr Baron Fock på Svartå okufteligen lemnat sitt bigall. Pigan närvarande gifvit sitt samtycke.

The link doesn't work for me. If I try to locate the record myself in Riksarkivet (https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/A0004661_00164) there is no marriage record for Anders and Maria.
Your transcript with my corrections:
Drängen medfört behörigt betyg om hinderslöshet. Pigan äger hvarken några nårmare slägtingar eller någon förmyndare hvarför hennes Husbonde, Högvälb. Herr Baron Fock på Svartå okufteligen(?) lemnat sitt bifall. Pigan närvarande gifvit sitt samtycke.
Translation:
The groom has the appropriate certificate of marriageability. The girl has neither any close relatives nor any guardian, so her master, honorable Herr Baron Fock på Svartå, has unhesitatingly given his consent. The maid present has given her consent.

Thank you for correcting my transcription. It now makes more sense. Google still doesn't have a good translation even now though. Thank you for helping me so I don't have to rely on them. :)
Which brings me back to the fact that Maria Lovisa Lindblad is shown in all the records I have that she was born in Skagershult. Though the reconstructed records says that Anders Ericsson Lindblad is her father I don't believe that he is. 1. He is not shown as a widow on his marriage record. 2. She is not listed with him in Östra Vingåkers even though she would have been an infant. 3. The age gap between her and his first child of record in Östra Vingåkers. She was born 28 March or May in 1837 and his first child of record is shown as being born 24 December 1837. 4. I guess it is possible that she stayed with family when he moved but I followed him until 1850-1855 record and she was never there.
Is my line of thinking sound or correct?

Sorry I realized I gave the wrong year for their marriage. It was 1836. Just one page back from the record you sent me.

Now I see that the word in the marriage record is …skrifteligen lemnat sitt bifall, has given his written consent.
Without the original birth record it will probably not be possible to determine the father of Maria Lovisa with certainty.
The note in the reconstructed church book is: "Fadern var Anders Eriksson Lindblad enl[igt] Domb[oken] 1835 29/10, 1838 19/2", so he was the father according to court records, which can mean that he was sentenced to pay alimony for an illegitimate child. Strange however that the first date 29 Oct 1835 is 1.5 years before the birth of Maria Lovisa.

Here is one last effort. It looks like her marriage record mentions her Mother but I am struggling to translate it.

I am not sure on the last few words.

Translation:

I went back to the reconstructed records I believe I have found her mother.
Åland 1849-1859
Fredika Pettersdotter Sjöberg, (f 1808 19/6 Finnerödja sn), dtr t snickaren Per Sjöberg o Greta Jonsdtr i Oxhult, Nysund sn, fadem var son t Per Sjöberg i Lervik. Piga, sedan fattighjon. nämnd i Domb 1829 3/11
The marriage record note does seem to confirm the note from the reconstructed record that is connected to her father.

Fredika Pettersdotter Sjöberg, born 19 June 1808 in Finnerödja socken, daughter to cabinetmaker Per Sjöberg and Greta Jonsdotter of Oxhult, Nysund socken, who is the father of Per Sjöberg of Lervik. Maid is poor. She is named in the church books 3 November 1829.
Did I translate correctly?

Some translation corrections that change the meaning slightly:
Fredika Pettersdotter Sjöberg, born 19 June 1808 in Finnerödja socken, daughter to cabinetmaker Per Sjöberg and Greta Jonsdotter of Oxhult, Nysund socken, the father was a son of Per Sjöberg of Lervik. A maid, then a pauper. She is named in the court records of 3 November 1829.
It would be interesting to read what is said in the court records. They are probably available in Riksarkivet, but not necessarily online.

Thank you for the corrections. I have been looking through the reconstructed book and there is a Per Andersson Sjöberg in Lervik who died in 1811. Image 196. That could be a connection to family.
Are the church records spoken of here called Domb(oken) ? What exactly should I be looking for? I didn't see anything on the Riksarkivet by that name. I am still hoping that I can find something.

"Domboken" does not refer to church records but to court records, i.e., to hearings of what is called in Swedish "häradsrätt", the local court. Typical hearings may concern alimony for illegitimate children, guardianship matters, inheritance disputes etc.
The häradsrätt for the parish of Skagershult was in Edsberg and the court records can be found here:
, but I am not sure how they can be accessed.0 -
I am not able to access the court records on the Riksarkivet and the book I need is not available on ArkivDigital either. Maybe one day.
I have put all my research notes on Maria Lovisa Lindblad and have been trying to decide if I should enter her parents. Do you feel like the is enough information to clearly show this relationship? I guess my concern is with the reconstructed book. Is it considered an official source? All three of them are found in the same section of the reconstructed book and together with them marriage record it does seem to be a solid connection. Is there any other points I need to consider?

What regards the mother of Maria Lovisa I think you can be quite sure that Fredrika Sjöberg is the right one, as she is named as such in the marriage record of Maria Lovisa.
As for the father the situation is a bit more complicated. Apparently Maria Lovisa was born illegitimate and not officially recognized by her father (she is still called illegitimate in her marriage record). On the other hand she uses the surname Lindblad. Unless there is any primary source (e.g. in Domboken) I would call it a hypothesis that Anders Eriksson Lindblad is her father.

Thank you for putting in words what I was trying to decide.

I found Frederika's birth record. It shows she was born 18 July 1809. I need help finding her with her parents.

I think what is says - Fadr. vagn makere fr. …bro. Maybe it means Qvisbro?
0 -
Qvisbro seems a good idea - now spelled Kvistbro.

Ok. This is what I found. I can only access it through FamilySearch. Fredrica is shown in the birth book in Kvistbro - 18 July 1809. This is what it says.
Fredrica vid Svartå födde och döpt i Finnerödja efter attest som tanms 1815.
Wagnm. Gesällen Peter Sjöberg Greta Jönsdotter.
It seems to be confirming that the records show she was born in Finnerödja. I tried looking in the household book in Svartå but I did not find them. It is possible that I missed them.
