Searching Death Records for 1896 in Quebec

Hello,

I am trying to find the cause of death of a 6 month old baby born and died in 1897. By chance are the death records online? Do I need to purchase a death certificate? If so, can you advise me on the procedure?

You would find the death record in the parish records for the parish. Ancestry.com allows you to search by parents. If you would like to share the name of the parents and (ideally) the parish or region, I can search.
