Translation Request
Hello,
I recently discovered a DNA cousin (Greg) who descends from a brother (Soren) of my Danish GG-Grandfather. Greg has a document of Soren's called a "Studsmaalsbog". It is apparently a kind of internal passport and logbook of jobs, residences, and religious milestones, and perhaps military service. The first 6 pages consist of printed "boilerplate", and the next 5 pages are handwritten with events in Soren's life. I would appreciate any advice on possible machine translation of the first part, and human translation of the inscribed events.
Thank you,
Jeff Eriksen

Ashlee: Thanks for the edit, but I cannot tell what you did. I read the Code of Conduct and saw the line about posting personal ID info, but do not know what you removed.

This site may be of use for you for a "machine translation" of your document:
. It was reviewed in our Inservice Training at the FamilySearch Library a few weeks ago. There is a YouTube video explaining how to use it. Search YouTube for "Getting Started with Transkribus" for more instructions.
The training did warn that choosing "The Text Titan 1 (Super Model)" costs money and you don't have to choose that one-you can choose the specific language of the document for free (I think). I haven't actually tried this, but it might be something that could be of use to you.
