Payment abbreviations in death entry
Catholic parish Hofkirchen, Bavaria, 1872 death register
image Hofkirchen015_0051 - Under the name of the deceased there is a notation of either, I think, 'bzhlt' [Bezahlt = paid], 'non' or 'nil' (see entry between 50 & 51).
img 0049 also has 'non solv.'
Would 'non' - indicated that the fee was not paid, vs. 'nil.' indicating no fee was charged?

Hello @Gina Palmer,
Your interpretation of these terms is correct.
non solv. = non solvit = not paid.
bzhlt = bezahlt = paid.
nil = nothing = no fee charged.

Thank you @Robert Seal_1.
Do you by chance know a little more about the principle of paying, or have a reference to some background material about this?

You're welcome, Gina. I don't know about the principle of paying and would suggest you ask this as a new question to the German community at large.
