My Uncle Frank Krawec Army Serial #32202078 served in WW11 It was said he hid in a cave with dead bodies. Where was he? How to find answers?

It sounds impossible but there are still remnants of records of many WWII soldiers. Submit a request to the NPRC and be patient while they search. Meanwhile, assemble as much as you know and post it here. Did he serve in Europe or the Pacific? What was his specialty, his rank? Did the hometown paper ever publish anything about his war experience, either during or after the war? Was he part of any veterans organization? Did he register his discharge with the local county court? Answers to these questions can narrow the search. Best of luck to you.
